more presentations

Today we continued with two more presentations. We learned about the greek gods and the government of greece. The greek gods presentation was every interesting. Veronica and Adam did a brief overview of the greek gods. That was very fascinatin, as i have never stuied them before. Next was something on the Government of Athens, but I there wasn't alot of time for me to write things down. However, I did write some key words down.

  • Aristocracy: a form of governemt held by the richest people, in which power is in the hands of a small, priviliged class
  • Salon: a man who attempted to reform this form of government. His reforms were eventually removed by aristocrats, but he did manage to make little changes that are now huge aspects of today's life.
  • Tyranny: cruel and oppressive government. These people only cared about themselves, and not the other people of their country
  • Hipias: a rule harsh ruler that became oppressive in response to the death of his brother.
I hope we go over this government section again. I was very well presented but i did not get a chance to write all of the essential terms I wanted to write down.
