RIOT IN BALTIMORE

Today, the class was pretty eager to discuss the baltimore riots..The class began with a theory that the riots were coming to harofrd county thursday. Fortunately, that tangent resided pretty quickly.  the class discussion seemed to resolve over one thing:

1. whether or not the riots were to protest over what happened to Freddy Gray,
2.  or was he just an excuse to do terrible things.

These people clearly disaprooved of police brutality, so  I completely agree with the first amendment that people should have freedom to speech- making a protest a completely reasonable way for this group of people to stand up for themselves and what they believe in. However, this is much more than a protest. They are using violence as a way to cope with their emotions on society, and because they want to be heard, and they think that this might just work.   In no way will burning down baltimore make it a better place, it is basic logic. I am sorry Baltimore, you deserved better than this.
